Legowelt has released music under more aliases than most producers have releases. He runs his own studio, builds his own synths, and puts out records on everything from Clone to his own Bandcamp page with the same disregard for how the industry thinks things should work. That independence is not a quirk. It is the thread that connects almost every artist we cover on Unchained Radio.

Who We Feature

The artists section is where we write about the people making the music. Not press-release profiles. Not sponsored content. Actual writing about producers, DJs, selectors, and label operators whose work sits within the underground electronic music world we cover.

Some of these names you will recognize. Others you will not, and that is the point. The artists we spotlight tend to share a few qualities: they have a sound that is identifiably theirs, they put out work on labels with editorial identity (think L.I.E.S., Lobster Theremin, Rush Hour, Dekmantel, Running Back), and they are making music that rewards repeated listening rather than one-time consumption.

DJ performing in a small club with low lighting and a focused crowd

We are equally interested in the emerging producer with two EPs on a label nobody has heard of yet and the established name whose catalog deserves a closer look. What matters is that the music holds up and that there is something worth saying about the person behind it.

The coverage here ranges from short spotlights on new producers to longer profiles of selectors and label heads. We also track the scenes and small communities that sustain dance music culture in places that rarely get written about. If Resident Advisor covers the headliners, we are more interested in the person running the sound system at a 200-capacity basement night who has been doing it for a decade without a press photo.
