FunkyHouse

At first, there is Jazz, then Blues, then Soul Music, and finally DISCO.
It’s the end of the 70s. The sound of dance music creates a shock wave that makes the planet dance at 125 BPM. A few years later, Disco, considered too commercial, fell into disuse and Funk, which had existed since the early 70s with the first concerts of Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool & The Gang, became mode and the BPM fell from 125 to 115. Funk gave birth to Rap then to Acid-Jazz in the early 90s. At the same time, Daft Punk re-accelerated the tempo to 125 with French House, a mixture from classic funk and disco sounds to other more innovative and refreshing sounds. At the same time, the English of the Ministry of Sound created Funky House, music in which the melody is more important than in house and the acoustic instrumentation, such as the piano, the voices and the saxophone much more present. Funky House also uses synthesizers and recorded samples of 1970s classics, or new musical phrases reminiscent of those years.
With its nods to funk and disco, its melodies, its voices and the modern aesthetics of its production, the Funky House is the worthy heiress of DISCO.
